Methods - Traditional

For traditional counseling, we can use a variety of techniques and methods to assist in your personal growth. We can decide on any combination of the following during your assessment to meet your personal goals: narrative therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), relaxation, mindfulness exercises, expressive arts, play therapy, communication skillsĀ 

CBT: learning about and changing the way one thinks, feels, and/or behaves helps a person cope with depression and/or anxiety

Mindfulness: learning to be in the present moment through learning and/or enhancing communication strategies

Expressive arts: helps accessing inner strengths and insights as well as letting go of past hurts through drawing, visualizing, movement (drama or mindful movement meditation, relaxation, meditation, drama)

Play Therapy: for children helps children process their feelings and experiences

Communication Skills training: building and strengthening relationship through learning and/or enhancing communication strategies
